Uganda’s climate is predominantly tropical, characterized by two rainy seasons annually. The first rainy season occurs from March to May, while the second takes place from September to December. However, the northern region, which accounts for a quarter of the country’s area, falls outside the tropical belt and experiences a distinct climate pattern, with only one rainy season per year.

Required documents include a passport biodata page, a color passport photo, an introductory letter, a yellow fever vaccination certificate, and a special pass or work permit for film crews.

$50.00 per person for a 3-month visa, $400.00 for a special pass/work permit (for film crews)
International Crew Accreditation
We facilitate the process on your behalf, leveraging our established relationship with the Media Council of Uganda.

Required Documentation
Required documents include a passport biodata page, a color passport photo, a completed Form G, a Certificate of Good Conduct or Interpol clearance, a special pass or work permit for Uganda, and an introductory letter addressed to the Secretary of the Media Council of Uganda.

Approximately 1 week.

$175.00 per person, valid for one month.
General Film Permit
The issuing organization varies depending on the shooting location. In Kampala, permits are issued by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA); in Entebbe, by the Entebbe Municipal Council; and in other areas outside cities, by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) and the police.

Required documents include an introductory letter and passport copies of the crew.

The permit takes a maximum of one week to be issued, provided all requirements are met.

The cost depends on the region and access required, with some locations offering free access and others requiring a fee.
Drone Permit
The Civil Aviation Authority issues the permit. For local drone applications, a local producer will advise on the specific requirements upon request.
Equipment Customs Clearance
Uganda is not a Carnet country. For non-Carnet equipment clearance, the process is managed by a local fixer.
Safety and Security
Uganda is generally a safe country with a strong focus on security.
