General Film Permit
To film in Mauritius, productions must obtain a General Film Permit from the Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC). This permit ensures compliance with local regulations and grants access to public locations. The application process requires essential production details such as project synopsis, crew list, and budget. With a processing time of 7-10 days, it is advisable to apply well in advance to avoid delays.

Drone Permit
Mauritius has strict drone regulations, and all aerial filming requires a Drone Permit from the Mauritius Civil Aviation Authority. Drones must be licensed locally, as imported drones are not permitted for use. The permit application process takes 10 days and must be submitted before arrival. The standard package, priced at $1,750 per day, includes a licensed drone pilot, camera operator, and necessary permits, ensuring compliance with aviation laws.
Equipment Customs Clearance
Mauritius is an ATA Carnet country, which allows for a simplified customs clearance process for temporary imports.

Complete the ATA Carnet Form, provide a General List of equipment, submit for approval to the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), provide security for duty and taxes, and pay the required issuing fee.
